What is E-Safety?
E-safety means protecting people, especially children from risks and dangers on the internet. It includes teaching safe behaviour online, using technology responsibly, and knowing how to stay secure while using digital devices.
Key parts of e-safety include:
- Protecting Personal Information: Not sharing private details like address, phone number, passwords, or school name.
- Staying Safe on Social Media: Using privacy settings, posting thoughtfully, and only talking to people you know.
- Avoiding Online Risks: Being aware of things like cyberbullying, scams, inappropriate content, and unsafe strangers online.
- Using Technology Responsibly: Managing screen time, behaving respectfully, and knowing the consequences of online actions.
- Security and Device Safety: Using strong passwords, parental controls, safe browsing, and keeping software up to date.
Simply put: E-safety is about keeping yourself and your children safe when using the internet, phones, games, and all digital technology.
What can you do to help?
