Performing Arts – GCSE Dance, Drama and Music

The school is very proud of its outstanding tradition in the Arts.

At Key Stage 3 students are taught Music, Dance and Drama as separate subjects and all three of these subjects are highly successful options in Key Stage 4 together with Btech Performing Arts.

Students regularly participate in local and national competitions and performances and peripatetic music lessons are available to practicing musicians.

Outstanding school performances are held each year with the School Carol Concert, Dance Show, Evening of Excellence in Music and several productions which include whole school productions and GCSE Drama Exam performances. Key Stage 3 productions have recently included Matilda, Alice in Wonderland, DNA and Dr Kerczaks Example.

Students regularly partake in workshops with national and international dance and theatre companies including Gecko Theatre, Frantic Assembly, The Paperbirds and Swindon Dance Company.

Performing Arts Ties are awarded to students for excellence in the Arts.
