An annual event in the Bishop Fox’s calendar is the Year 5 Enterprise Challenge day.
This year’s challenge was to come up with a theme for Macmillan’s Dress up and Dance – an event held across the UK every June. The students pitched their ideas to a panel of judges consisting of Steve Summerill (Deputy Head), Nigel Pearce (President of Taunton Chamber of Commerce) and Jo Summerill (A Macmillan nurse).
The student’s ideas were fantastic, ranging from “What do you want to be when you grow up?” to “Superheroes”! The winning team – St Georges Primary School – were commended by the judges on their slick presentation and great promotional materials. Nigel Pearce said he was “Really impressed with the level of professionalism”.
Steve Summerill said “The aim of the day is to introduce the children to Bishop Fox’s in preparation for their progression at the end of Year 6. With the added bonus of gaining great enterprise skills and highlighting a great cause to boot”.
