All of the Year 8s at Bishop Fox’s get the opportunity to take part in an enterprise project.
This year we challenged them to design a bag that was inspired by Somerset and create a delicious sausage recipe.
Both the projects were generously sponsored by local businesses with the proprietors giving up their time to judge the winners, this was a tough task!
After much deliberation the winning sausage accolade was awarded to Anya Fear. Malcolm Pyne from Pynes award winning butchers said “it was an all-round success full of flavour and the perfect texture too!”
The Somerset inspired bag award was snapped up by Billy Jackman with his theme of lush green fields and the iconic wicker man. Catherine from Ginger Fig said she was especially drawn to this image as it very much said Somerset to her!
Both the sausage and the bag will be available to purchase in the respective businesses. Bishops Fox’s would like to thank these local entrepreneurs for their support in this fantastic experience for the students!!
Steve Summerill, Deputy Head, added ‘it is important part of a school’s curriculum to develop enterprise skills with students – these real life scenarios allow the students to develop these skills in partnership with our local community’.
