Bishop Fox’s Brazil day

It’s all Rio at Fox’s

Bishop Fox’s school ran a Brazil based Art day for local primary schools including St Georges and Blackbrook – students from Year 3 and 5 joined the Art department at the school to participate in a circus of activities, the Primary school students were supported by Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students from Bishop Fox’s that are part of the FAB art club. The art day was organised by Mrs Thomas an Art teacher at Fox’s said ‘the students participated in 3 workshops – we ran a pottery workshop where students designed and made tropical birds, an Art workshop where they made carnival masks and a third workshop where the students made healthy smoothies based on Brazilian grown food’. Steve Summerill, Deputy head added ‘Working with our local community is important to us, if we can offer workshops to our local schools that allows then to develop skills and use facilities they normally do not encounter until secondary school then we are pleased to help’.
